Tokyo - The Tokyo stock market continued to plummet Wednesday as the key Nikkei 225 Stock Average dropped below the 10,000 mark.

The Nikkei lost 380.19 points, or 3.74 per cent, to 9,775.71 in the first 17 minutes of trading.

The dollar lost ground against the yen but gained against the euro. (dpa)
