Tibetans pray for the speedy recovery of Dalai Lama
Dharamsala/New Delhi/Mumbai, August 30 : Tibetans-in-exile in parts of India on Saturday prayed for the speedy recovery of their spiritual leader Dalai Lama.
He was taken to a hospital in Mumbai on Thursday after he complained of exhaustion.
The Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, cancelled all his engagements for the next three weeks to undergo medical check-up and take rest.
Tibetans in Dharamsala gathered in the main Buddhist temple premises to participate in the ''Global Tibet Fast'' campaign spearheaded by the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama to highlight the "Tibetan cause".
Dalai Lama was supposed to preside over this 12-hour fast and prayers session but due to his ill health he is taking part in it from Mumbai itself.
“Even though he (Dalai Lama) is in Mumbai he is taking part in this day long fasting from Mumbai itself so we are praying for his speedy recovery,” said Tserab, a Tibetan who attended this 12-hour fast and prayer.
Tibetans in New Delhi also prayed for their spiritual leader''s well being.
The 73-year-old spiritual leader will undergo "routine medical tests" in a hospital, Sam Dong Rinpoche, Tibetan Prime Minister-In-Exile told reporters. (ANI)
