Thai shares fall 2.35 per cent on US jitters
Bangkok - The Thai stock market fell 2.35 per cent Thursday on uncertainties about the US economy, analysts said.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index ended at 742.15, down 17.86 points or 2.35 per cent.
"Foreign investors were selling heavy today and local investors followed," said Mongkol Puangpaetra, an analyst at Adkinson Securities.
The main reason for the heavy selling was growing jitters about the US economy, and the fact that the US markets will be closed Friday, Independence Day, in the US.
"I think a lot of investors decided to play safe," said Mongkol. (dpa)
