Thai shares up 2.08 per cent on speculation
Bangkok - Thai shares rose 2.08 per cent in value Monday, boosted by speculation in energy stocks, analysts said.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand index ended at 466.28 points, up 9.48 points.
"There was a lot of speculation by local investors in energy stocks," Adkinsons Securities analyst Chaiyos Jiwangkul.
The market was closed for three days last week for Thailand's traditional Buddhist New Year celebration. This year's festival was marred by violent street protests in Bangkok that broke out last Monday but were quelled by the military on Tuesday. (dpa)
