Temp in cites may rise by cleaning the air in them
Global warming is slowly embracing our planet in its evil arms, and in an effort to fight it, the government is constantly developing new strategies. One of it is to limit the pollution in the air by minimizing the use of car and reducing the power-plant emissions. What was being thought to be a vital step to fight global warming may now prove to be a disaster since a German scientist has recently claimed that purifying air in the large cities, which are suffering from air-pollution, may actually lead to a further increase in the global temperature rather than reducing it.
Hans-Joachim Schellnhuber, the director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research, in Germany. claims , “Aerosols, or particles suspended in air, have a cooling effect on the Earth, countering global warming linked to carbon dioxide.”
He added, “A drop in aerosols in the atmosphere could cause a "rapid" rise in temperatures.”
Schellnhuber says that pollutants of airborne act as an umbrella worldwide.
He concluded, “A rise in temperature because of declines in aerosols in the atmosphere can be offset by slashing CO2 emissions. By not reducing carbon output, humanity is closing the last door we have through which we can possibly influence the global climate.”
