Russia considers orbital stations for Lunar, Mars missions

RoskosmosThe Director of space agency Roskosmos' Manned Flight Programmes, Alexei Krasnov announced on Friday that for the sake of future manned missions to the Moon and Mars, Russia is thinking over to develop an orbital station to serve as an assembly platform and springboard.

He said, "We will soon propose to our government a project to construct a low-orbit complex, which could serve as a foundation for the implementation of the Lunar programme and later on - the Mars programme."

The company claims that its new mini laptops are not netbook but pocket style PCs.  

Intel’s Atom Z processor is used by the Vaio P, which has been equipped in it after making it more compact and power efficient than the previous Atom N chip.

This $10 laptop had been possible due to the efforts put in by students of Vellore Institute of Technology, scientists in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, IIT-Madras and involvement of PSUs like Semiconductor Complex.

Michael Arrington, whose TechCrunch blog is one of the most influential forums in the technology world, announced his decision in a blog posting from a conference in Munich.

"Someone walked up to me and quite deliberately spat in my face," Arrington wrote. "Before I even understood what was happening, he veered off into the crowd."

Third Chinese research station comes up in Antarctic

ChinaNew Delhi, Jan 29 : China has set up its third Antarctic research station, also the country's first on the continent's inland, marking a significant step in polar exploration.

The Kunlun station was erected at Dome Argus (Dome A), the pole's highest icecap at 4,093 meters above the sea level, on Tuesday by the China's 25th expedition team to the South Pole.

Chinese President Hu Jintao sent a congratulatory telegram to the team, saying that the construction of the station will help China further improve scientific research on the continent.
