TCS Opens Delivery Center In US; Eyes Other Rising Markets

With the aim to serve up its dominant North-American clients, India’s Tata Consultancy Services largest software exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd has established its first delivery center in the United States.

Having accommodation for 1000 customers, the delivery centre is situated at Milford, Cincinnati, in Ohio

In a statement, the company said that the majority of the people will be employed from the region and its universities.

Mr. S Ramadorai, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of TCS said, “The Cincinnati campus is a strategic investment to create an information technology eco-system in the state together with our customers and local universities. It reflects our long-term commitment to customers in one of our key markets globally.”

Amid worries of a downturn in its fundamental US market, the company is also making robust efforts to increase its presence in the rising market segments including Latin America and Easter Europe.

In an interview, Gabriel Rozman, its executive vice president for emerging markets said that TCS anticipates rising markets would make up 20% of its earnings in next five years, up from around 8 percent at the moment.

TCS has been working in North America since 1979 when it set up its first office in New York City. At present, it owns over 40 offices all through North America delivering real business results to customers spanning the Fortune 1,000 firms.

On Tuesday (18 March), the stock of the company marked its closure at Rs 817, up 3.18% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
