New Delhi, Apr 14 : Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor on Tuesday assured that a three-tier security system has been placed at the Line of Control (LoC) to prevent any infiltration during the elections.

Talking to reporters here on the sidelines of an international seminar, General Kapoor claimed there is no trace of Taliban militants in Jammu and Kashmir.

However, he admitted the presence of LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba) and the JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammed) in the valley.

New Delhi, Mar 28 : Army chief General Deepak Kapoor will undertake an official visit to France from March 31 to April 3.

During his visit, the Army chief will interact with senior military and civilian defence hierarchy and discuss various contemporary defence related issues.

He will also visit important training institutions and operational headquarters.

France and India share common values and have convergence of views on many issues that affect the emerging world order.

New Delhi, Feb 24 : To enhance growing defence cooperation between India and Indonesia, Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor is on a four day goodwill visit to that country from today.

During his visit, General Kapoor will interact with Indonesia's defence and army officials and visit their important training establishments.

The visit assumes special significance in the light of enhanced defence cooperation in consonance with India's "Look East Policy" and growing relationship with ASEAN.

New Delhi, Feb. 3, : A physically challenged student Pawel pinned a flag on the Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor on the occasion of 50th Flag Week of the Deaf on Tuesday.

The Flag Pinning was carried out at the office of the Army Chief at South Block here.

General Kapoor appreciated the efforts of the All India Federation of Deaf (AIFD) in elevating the living quality of the deaf in coordination with the World Federation of the Deaf and other Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs).

New Delhi, Jan 15 : The 61st Foundation Day of the Indian Army on Thursday culminated with the At-Home function hosted by Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor, which was attended by top government functionaries as well as serving and retired officers of the armed forces.

Army Day is celebrated on January 15 every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General (later Field Marshal) K. M. Cariappa becoming the first Indian Commander-in-Chief in 1948. The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows.

New Delhi, Jan 15 : Army chief General Deepak Kapoor today described the Mumbai attacks as a test of India''s patience.

Addressing a function at the Army Day parade here, General Kapoor described terrorism as the biggest challenge before the country.

"Terrorism is the only biggest challenge before us and the menace has engulfed the entire world. But India has been grappling with it for long. The recent Mumbai attacks were a test of India''s patience," said General Kapoor.
