The Supreme Court sought well-known film director Mahesh Bhatt's view on a government lawsuit for scrapping a Delhi High Court (DHC) verdict, which permitted scenes of cigarette smoking in movies for the sake of art on Thursday.

A bench of Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan and Justice P Sathasivam wanted Bhatt's reaction on the central administration's lawsuit and sent him a notice for it.

There have been reports floating around about Mahesh Bhatt having ghost directed their Vishesh Films’ production Jashn. But now there is another Bhatt family member, his nephew Mohit Suri who too has got involved with the making of Jashn. We saw him shooting a song for the film just a few days back in Mumbai.

Mohit was shooting a hot rain song in sweltering heat on the film’s lead pair, Adhyayan Suman and Anjana Sukhani. So while the lead pair was soaked to the skin, all around them the film’s technicians were sweating.

At the 7th Kara Film Festival in Karachi, two Indian movies including Nandita Das’s directorial debut ‘Firaaq’ and a documentary Superman of Malegaon have won the Ciepie awards.

Bollywood, which has been an important part of ‘KaraFilm Festival’ each year since its beginning, did not attend this year’s celebrations because of Mumbai attacks. But, Nandita Das, who is famous in Pakistan for her character in ‘Ramchand Pakistani’, along with ace film maker Mahesh Bhatt, attended the festival.

Islamabad, February 15 : Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Nandita Das graced the second-last day of the KaraFilm Festival in Karachi, Pakistan.

The two of them are known to be the "oldest supporters" of the Kara festival.

Pakistani newspaper the News says in one of its reports that Das and Bhatt were welcome signs, and a massive statement of commitment from the neighbours across the border.
