Tamil Film ‘Goa’ In Trouble!

Tamil Film ‘Goa’ In Trouble! The release of Tamil movie 'Goa' later this month hung in balance when a well known financier Kamlesh Kothari lodged a petition in the Madras High Court against its production house, possessed by Rajnikanth's daughter Soundarya, to pay back Rs 2 crore.

According to the reports, a loaning amount of Rs 2 crore has been taken from Kothari on different dates between October and November 2009 by Soundarya with the guarantee of repaying the full amount along with a "royalty amount of Rs 30 lakhs" before January 31.

The claimant argued that Soundarya is all set to release the flick on January 29, without returning the loan.

For this reason, he lodged a civil suit in the High Court asking for a path to pay back Rs 2.30 crore with interests at the rate of 24% annually.

"The plaintiff will be put to grave prejudice and irreparable loss if the movie 'Goa' is released without the defendant's liability towards the plaintiff being discharged," financier Kamlesh Kothari contended in a civil suit in the Madras High Court.

When the case came up for hearing on Wednesday, Justice V Ramasubramainan postponed the issue to Thursday.

In the meantime, hectic talks are going on between both the parties for an out of court conclusion, which will pave way for the release of Goa on Jan 29.
