Taliban warn Swat MPAs, MNAs to quit or face dire consequences
Mingora, July 31: Militants in Pakistan’s Swat tribal area have reportedly warned the local politicians, including leaders representing the area in the provincial assembly and the National Assembly, to resign from their respective seats, or face dire consequences.
Muslim Khan, a spokesman from an unidentified militant organisation, said over telephone that the militants would take revenge for the military operation from the parliamentarians if they did not resign from their seats in the assemblies, reported the Daily Times.
The operation was started by the provincial government to appease the US, and the Taliban would respond with full might, the paper quoted him as saying. (ANI)
