Taiwan's Hon Hai injects 90 million dollars into Czech plant

Taipei - Hon Hai, the world's largest electronics components manufacturer, has injected 91.7 million dollars into its personal computer factory in the Czech Republic, a newspaper reported Saturday.

Hon Hai transferred the money to the plant Friday. The factory is located in Kutna Hora, 70 kilometres to the east of the Czech capital of Prague, the United Daily News reported.

The plant, opened in 2002, is called Foxconn CZ sro. Foxconn is Hon Hai's trade name. The factory is one of the world's largest PC assembly plants, and is a supplier to leading PC makers, including Hewlett-Packard and Acer.

Hon Hai opened its second plant in the Czech Republic in 2007. That factory produces liquified crystal diplay modules and PC components for Innolux, a Hon Hai company that makes LCD panels and LCD monitors. Hon Hai's two Czech plants employ 5,000 workers. dpa
