Taiwan man retrieves lost dog when it is shown on TV stealingTaipei - A Taiwan man was dumbfounded to see on television that his lost Husky was caught stealing chocolate bars from a store in the central county of Taichung, local media reported Friday.

The man, identified by his family name Chen, watched a report on news network TVBS Thursday night that showed a dog going into a convenience store and taking away two chocolate bars, the network said.

Footage provided by the store camera showed the dog followed a woman customer into the store Tuesday night. Thinking that the dog was with the customer, the storekeeper did not stop it until after the dog chewed on the chocolate bars and the customer said it was not her dog.

The storekeeper later took the dog, named Sunny, to a nearby police station, believing it was a lost dog. After watching the news report, Chen immediately went to the police station to take the dog back, TVBS said.

"Sunny broke free of the leash and went missing while I was walking it several days ago," Chen was quoted by TVBS as saying, after he went to the convenience store to apologize. (dpa)
