Tait’s Career Hangs In Balance, May Miss IPL
Injured Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait's international career hangs in the balance with doctors refusing to state a specific date for his comeback. Tait is thus in doubt for playing the ODI series against South Africa.
Tait, Australia's fastest bowler is down with chronic hamstring tendonitis. He sustained a left-hamstring tear during a domestic ODI match against Queensland in Brisbane on December 3.
The 27 year old fast bowler has not played for Australia since taking 2/40 during the two-wicket loss to New Zealand in the Chappell-Hadlee series opener in Perth on February 1.
Earlier this month, Tait was bought by the Rajasthan Royals of the IPL side for the second season of IPL for US $ 350,000.
Speaking on the fast bowler injury, South Australia physio John Porter said, “Shaun has sustained a tendon injury to his left hamstring.”
"Australian team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris and I have been working closely with Shaun on his rehabilitation program, which has included autologous blood injection treatment here in Adelaide. He is recuperating well but there is no specified date for his return to cricket," added Porter.
