Swimming aids in balancing
A recent finding in research states that swimming should be started at an early age. While teaching babies how to swim, one can help improve their balance and their ability to hold and grip objects.
This study also elucidates an important insight on reducing the fear of water in children. Researchers have also found that ones who have had taken baby swimming classes did better on tests involving gripping and reaching.
It was an observation based study that included 19 four-year-olds from Iceland who took part in baby swimming lessons for two hours a week for at least four months since the children were infants.
This was when compared to a group of 19 other four-year-olds who had not done any baby swimming, ran short on manual dexterity, ball skills and balance.
These lessons as the health experts claim that parents moving the children through water and encouraging them to stand supported on a hand.
