Surge in Microsoft’s positive consumer perception; company at highest perception level in 21 monthsPositive consumer perception about software giant Microsoft has recently witnessed a notable surge; thanks largely to the company's October 26 launch of its newest Windows OS version - Windows 8, and its own-branded `Surface' tablet marking its foray into the tablet arena, and even the new advertising campaign for the company's Bing search engine.

On the basis of consumer perception statistics put forth by YouGov BrandIndex's Buzz, the perception level which Microsoft is currently poised at is the company's highest perception level with the consumers in the last 21-month period --- while Bing touched its highest-in-two-years perception level this month; the perception level reached by Windows is the highest since October 2009; and Surface owners gave Microsoft its highest mark of the year.

The Microsoft-related consumer perception data provided by the Buzz score is essentially the response which 5,000 customers give every day to the following question: "If you've heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?"

With the response to the question clearly indicating that positive consumer perception about Microsoft is soaring of late, Microsoft's chic and classy Windows 8 and Surface tablets ads have virtually deluged the airwaves. The noticeably trendier ads which the company is recently airing mark a pleasant digression from the somber and square advertising which Microsoft is generally associated with!
