Supreme Petrochemicals Eyeing Big For 2007-08

Tiruchirapalli: A top company executive said that Polystyrene manufacturer Supreme Petrochemicals Ltd is expecting a turnover of Rs 1,600 crore in the recent fiscal started from July 1, 2007.

R Rangarajan, Chief Executive (Export Marketing), told that the company made revenue of Rs 1,400 crore in the last year, out of which more than 50 per cent was accomplished through exports.

Mr. Rangrajan told news persons that Supreme Petrochemicals Ltd, a part of the Mumbai-based Supreme Industries Group, has a solid export market crosswise 85 countries in North America, Europe, and Asia. A few African and Latin American countries have also showed interest in procuring polystyrene from the group.

Polystyrene is a delicate material used primarily for disposable food services and also in fabrication of home appliances such as refrigerators, TV sets, and air conditioning units.

The company also makes PP compound (Poly Propylene) that is mainly used by the auto industry.

The firm would shortly come out with an insulation material - X-PS, which would considerably lessen energy consumption in commercial as well as residential buildings.

The product would be introduced in the first quarter of the next year (2008), and the company has already invested Rs 15 crore at their factory in agothane near Roha in Maharashtra.
