Supply of some commodities still a problem: Cabinet secretary

New Delhi, Nov 16 - Cabinet secretary K. M. Chandrasekhar Monday said supply constraints of some commodities still existed and the price situation would ease as soon as the supply improved.

"There are supply constraints in some commodities globally as well as in India. We have removed import duties on most of those goods and the situation is improving," he told reporters on the sidelines of a business meet here.

Chandrasekhar feels the government would not withdraw the stimulus measures until the economy returns to high growth.

"Right now all indication is that there is no immediate need to change the stimulus package," he added.

The cabinet secretary said support for some commodities was likely to continue.
