A successful episode created by ISRO by launching PSLV rocket

PSLV-RocketIndian Space Research Organization has made another flourished episode by launching PSLV (Polar satellite Launch vehicle) on Monday. The rocket has successfully released five satellites into the orbit. Among these five satellites, cartography satellite Cartosat-2B is the advanced high resolution satellite which is the main cargo.

K. Radhakrishnan, chairman of ISRO is very happy at the successful flight of PSLV 16.

PSLV weigh's around 230 tonne and is designed with a length of 44 m tall, the combined weight of five satellites is 819 kg. The rocket was launched towards space from a spaceport which is about 80 km north of Chennai.

Between all its five satellites, the Cartosat-2B is the main satellite and it weigh's around 694 kg, other satellites put into orbit are the Algerian remote sensing satellite Alsat-2A , it weigh 116 kg, two nano satellites; NLS 6.1 AISSAT-1 made by the University of Toronto, Canada, weighing 6.5 kg and another is NLS 6.2 TISAT made by University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland, weighing 1 kg and last is the PICO satellite STUDSAT weighing less than 1 kg built by students of seven engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

All the satellites were released by rocket after 20 minutes of its blast, first of all Cartosat-2B was released into the orbit , followed by Alsat-2A and after this two nano satellites built by Canada and Switzerland were released and in last very small satellite STUDSAT was released.
