Melbourne, Dec. 7 : South African pacer Dale Steyn, who will arrive in Australia today for a Test and one-day series, has that he is very keen to bury the demons of his last trip Down Under.

The centre piece of the Proteas attack, Steyn has repeatedly said that he has not forgotten the humiliation of being ripped apart by Australian and Sri Lankan batsmen in two one day internationals in 2005-06.

Steyn conceded 90 runs from eight overs during his frightful initiation to international cricket as a 22-year-old.

Now ranked the No. 1 quick in world cricket, he is seeking redemption and plans to get it by exposing the Australians to the fastest bowling spells of his career.

Steyn''s quickest delivery has been timed at 156 km/h, but he has set a personal goal of reaching 160km/h – a speed only Brett Lee, Shoaib Akhtar and Shaun Tait have clocked.

''''It would be fantastic to bowl 100 miles per hour (160.9km/h), but if I can bowl consistently in the right areas at over 90mph (144.8km/h) I will be the happiest man alive.

''''Pace is definitely my biggest weapon but pace combined with swing is deadly," the Courier Mail quoted Steyn, as saying.

The 25-year-old has had an incredible calendar year in 2008, taking 60 wickets in just 11 Tests at the world-class average of 19.42. Overall, Steyn has 136 wickets in 27 Tests at 22.68, with his strike rate of 37.5 currently the best in Test history.

"This (Australia) is where I really have to test myself. I know if I do well my team is going to do well and I am ready for the test of my character," Steyn said. (ANI)
