Sterlite Technologies, leading power transmission conductor provider, has bagged three contracts worth US$ 15.5 million from infrastructure firms in Africa (Nigeria, Uganda, Algeria) and Asia (Bangladesh).

The company was chosen as the sole manufacturer and supplier of power conductors for all these contracts.

The conductors would be supplied by November 2008. Sterlite currently has a cumulative manufacturing capacity of 115,000MT, making it the largest manufacturer in India and among the top five global manufacturers of power conductors. With the latest wins, the company has fortified its market share in Africa to 14%.

Recently, the company has announced its plans to further enhance its power conductors manufacturing capacity to 160,000 MT.
