Srinagar, Jan. 16 : Hundreds of people led by functionaries of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Forum (JKLF) staged a rally on Friday to protest against continuing attacks by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza.

Carrying anti-Israel placards and photographs of victims of Israeli bombing, the protestors raised slogans and ridiculed the Israel national flag.

The protest march was addressed by senior Hurriyat leaders

"People who are bombarding hospitals and schools and killing Women and children are criminals. We want to draw the attention of countries like America and Europe towards this problem," said chief of the JKLF Javed Ahmed Mir.

He said the Kashmir issue is similar to the problem of Gaza.

"We want to say that problem of Kashmir is similar to that of Palestine. People have been killed for many years. But no one has come to support us," Mir added.

Over a thousand persons have been killed in the Israel offensive that was launched on December 27 to curtail the Hamas'' rocket attacks on Israeli territory from Gaza.

Israel has accused Hamas of taking shelter among the civilian population and using sites such as mosques and schools as military posts. (ANI)
