SPML Technologies, a group company of Subhash Projects & Marketing Ltd (SPML), on Monday announced the completion of first phase of its automated anytime payment (ATP) kiosks in the state. Through this facility, the electricity consumers will now be able to pay their electricity bills anytime with multiple payment options such as cash, cheque, demand draft and credit or debit card. The company is providing this service under build-own-operate-maintain (BOOM) model.

The first phase was implemented through a tie-up with four state distribution companies (discoms) with allocation of 7 kiosks to Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited, 19 to Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited, 10 to Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited and 7 to Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited. Apart from this, it is in talks with other utility organizations in the state including water distribution providers and telecom industry for extension of similar services. "SPML is focused on enhancing the consumer experience by simplifying the utility payment and related transactions. Through its ATP solutions, it will create a service oriented environment between the utility and its consumers," said Anil Sethi, chairman, Subhash Projects & Marketing Ltd.
