The prototype SpaceShipOne (SS1) traveled three times into space and the larger version of same machine is under construction. The SpaceShipTwo is the new machine that will be able to carry six passengers and two pilots.
In India, the trips would be sold by the accredited space agent, Deluxe Travel Europe, which has tied up with GD Goenka World Travel to create a company called Spazio Travel for the marketing in India.
Nipun Goenka, CEO of Spazio Travel, said that in India, where there at 18 billionaires and many more people with a lot more money than ever before, they are targeting to sell to at least 20 people in the next 1 year.
The flight will take off from a spaceport in New Mexico and the astronauts will go through 3 days of pre-flight preparation and training onsite, including G-force acclimatization and safety training also.
The flight will take only two hours including eight minutes in space and four minutes of weightlessness – when you can actually float.
The space craft will go about 110 km into space, and from there you can view the earth’s curve, the blue of atmosphere, the pitch black of space and it will be completely silent.
