South Florida teen arrested and charged with practicing medicine without license

On Tuesday, a South Florida teen got arrested and charged with practicing medicine without a license after allegedly having a fake medical practice and passing himself off as with a PhD degree.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the 18-year-old Malachi Love-Robinson has been arrested after he allegedly carried out an examination on an undercover agent, offering medical advice. He has been held on $6,000 bail.

The Palm Beach Post said that a cease-and-desist order showed that since January 26, Love-Robinson had been running a medical office in West Palm Beach. The accused has allegedly dubbed his practice New Birth New Life Holistic and Alternative Medical Center & Urgent Care and called himself a psychology doctor.

The website of the center listed Love-Robinson as among three staff members, including a statement describing him as “a well rounded professional that treats, and cares for patients, using a system of practice that bases treatment of physiological functions and abnormal conditions on natural laws governing the human body”.

The paper also mentioned that Love-Robinson had been investigated at least two times earlier. Last year in January, he allegedly donned the coat of a doctor, roaming in the halls of a local hospital. Though, no charges were filed after it was found that he didn’t enter in the rooms of patients or perform medical procedures.

In October, Love-Robinson faced a cease-and-desist order after he allegedly run another forged medical practice in Boynton Beach.

In January 2015, at the time of the initial investigation, mother of Love-Robinson told police that her son is suffering from an illness and wasn’t following his medication. Public documents redacted the precise illness.
