Sony Ericsson announces C510 Cybershot phone in India; showcases new products at CTIA

Sony Ericsson C510 CybershotThe joint venture of the Japan’s Sony Corporation and the Sweden’s telecommunications company Ericsson – Sony Ericsson showcased its entire product lineup at Pepcom’s MobileFocus trade-show, at CTIA (Cellular Telephone Industries Association) convention, in Las Vegas.

The Japanese-Swedish phone maker showcased its newly launched, Sharapova’s favorite phone, Sony Ericsson T707, and other phones from the 8-megapixel Sony Ericsson C905 Cybershot phone to Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 at CTIA, while Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications India announced Sony Ericsson C510 Cybershot featuring Smile Shutter technology, in India.

Sony Ericsson C510 Cybershot Phone comes equipped with Smile Shutter technology that helps capturing smiling faces. It is the first ever phone to have Smile Shutter technology.

“We have been leaders and innovators in the camera phone segment since the inception of the company. The camera phone category has witnessed increased momentum in India with Sony Ericsson leading the wave. Today’s announcement is yet another initiative from our end to offer a breakthrough proposition to our consumers and inspire them to capture precious and spontaneous moments,” said Mr. Sudhin Mathur, General Manager, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications India.

Sony Ericsson C510 Cybershot Phone also features several wonderful photography tools, including auto focus, face-detection, 3.2 megapixel camera, active lens cover, photo light and illuminated imaging shortcut keys. It also offers landscape and portrait view and YouTube app. Seeking to publicize its new phone, Sony Ericsson also announced the global Smile Hunter competition for the photography buffs in India. Sony Ericsson C510 Cybershot Phone, priced at Rs.12,195, is expected to be available at all Sony Ericsson retail stores.

Meanwhile, Sony-Ericsson’s new T707 fashion phone has become the tennis smasher Maria Sharapova’s favorite phone. The phone is specifically designed for ladies. It’s a simple-to-use phone, with quad-band GSM along with tri-band HSDPA, incorporating the standard set of Sony Ericsson features. The phone features gesture controls, along with 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio, and Bluetooth audio streaming.   

Speaking of the phone, Sharapova said, "The T707 is my ultimate new accessory. I am always on the go and I need a phone that is easy to use, and of course chic as well! I love the fact that I can just wave my hand to mute a call."
