Sonia sharpens attack on BJP, says 'empty vessel makes loudest noise'
Meham (Haryana), Oct 4 : Launching a frontal attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday described Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre as an empty vessel that makes the loudest noise.
"Empty vessels make the most noise, being loud doesn't mean you are speaking the truth," she said while addressing a rally here.
Claiming that the Centre was taking credit by renaming the programmes started by the previous UPA regime, Sonia Gandhi said, "The BJP is taking credit by renaming programmes started by us."
Reaching out to the assembled crowd, the Congress president asked whether the NDA government has provided employment opportunities to the youth. She added that a nation is not built in one day, but it takes several years of dedication.
"Don't rely upon the 'false' promises of other parties. They have failed to set any example. The BJP is making hollow promises to the people. Did they fulfill promise of providing employment or reducing inflation?" she asked.
The Congress president also asked the crowd whether the illegal black money stashed in foreign banks have been brought back to the country within the hundred days of the NDA government taking over as promised.
"What happened to the promise of bringing back black money?" she asked. (ANI)
