Social Networking Sites Have Greater Impact On Girls Than Boys
A new report has disclosed that social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook have a bigger impact on females as compared to males.
The survey, commissioned by National Family Week, followed up 3,000 parents and 1,000 kids across United Kingdom.
The results of the survey showed that social networking sites have greater impact on girls than boys.
When asked to answer what is most crucial for them, the top three priorities for females included popularity and having pals, followed by family, and then social networking sites.
But, the top three choices for males were family, accompanied by money and then popularity and having friends.
Around 6% of males selected social networking, compared to almost 40% of females.
The research also disclosed that parents over-estimate the role they play in their child's life.
About two third of the parents said that they believed they were the biggest influence in their child's life, but only 49% of the kids said the same. (With Inputs from Agencies)
