Sled hitches of Pelican International recalled

Sled hitches of Pelican International recalledAccording to the official reports, the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Pelican International utility snow sled hitches because of a risk of injury.

The report also noted that about 250 utility sled tow hitches were made in Canada and China for Pelican International of Quebec, Canada, and sold nationwide at sports retailers from January 2007 to December 2009 for about $50 if sold separately and for between $130 and $250 if sold with the sled.

The commission has said that the tow hitch, designed to hitch a utility sled to a snowmobile, includes screws that can back out of position as the hitch vibrates during use, posing a risk to users.

The tow hitch is black, made of metal, and measures about 9.25 inches in length and 3.25 inches in diameter.

It was advised to consumers to stop using the sled tow hitch and contact Pelican International for a free replacement and repair instructions. (With Inputs from Agencies)
