Siddle suffers foot injury, in doubt for Cape Town Test
Durban, Mar. 11 : Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle is suffering from an injury to his left foot, and is in doubt for next week''s third Test in Cape Town.
The Victorian pacer appeared to hurt his left foot after taking two early wickets on day four and team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris rushed to speak to him on the boundary line during the spell.
It is the same foot that troubled Siddle in the first Test in Johannesburg, but he yesterday played down any injury fears.
Siddle pushed through obvious pain in his first over last night to dismiss A. B. De Villiers for 84.
"The foot is going alright," Siddle said. "Obviously it is a bit sore, but I''ve just got to keep pushing through. I''ve got 10 days rest after this Test, so I''ll just keep working through it and see how we go. I''ve probably just got to get through that first over. Once I get through that I''m fine," the Herald Sun quoted Siddle, as saying.
Siddle has taken 28 wickets in his first six Tests, but there is a question mark over a recurring problem in his foot. (ANI)
