Shoaib Akhtar disappointed by team’s defeat
Lahore, Sep 25: Pakistan’s fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is disappointed by his team’s defeat in the Twenty20 World Championship final.
Shoaib hailed team’s fine overall show in the World Cup, and said both the teams provided tremendous fun for the fans around the world in the nail-biting final.
Commenting on Pakistan’s loss to India at Johannesburg, Shoaib said Pakistan played commendable cricket in the tournament and came so near to winning it due to team effort.
"Playing the final is also a big achievement and credit goes to all the boys, who made it possible to play this great final after a long time," he said.
"I believe this performance will help the Pakistan team to gain confidence and produce better results during the home series against South Africa," the Dawn quoted Shoaib, as saying.
Shoaib is likely to miss the home series, because he would be facing an inquiry over brawl with Mohammad Asif. (With Inputs from ANI)
