Shiv Sena launches malaria drive
Shiv Sena has released a motion against malaria.
This drive is targeted at migrant laborers which is added that out of 2,500 construction sites present in Mumbai, just 2% took heed to restrain malaria.
With effect from 1st Aug, the state government in association with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation the cards will be offered to more than 3 lakhs laborers and thus keep a tab on their health.
The drive includes a blood test to be done every 15 days and as the census claims malaria-endemic states are Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Orissa and Uttaranchal.
Dr GT Ambe, BMC executive health officer said, "If the mosquitoes bite those afflicted by the disease first and then bite others, then the disease can be transmitted."
Rahul Shewal, civic standing committee chairperson added that the migrants were one of the reasons for the widespread of malaria which supposedly is believed to be caused by Plasmodium falciparum.
