Shibu Soren asks Madhu Koda to quit soon
New Delhi, Aug 12 : Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief (JMM) Shibu Soren on Tuesday asked Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda to quit soon, otherwise support to the state government will be withdrawn.
"The decision regarding making me Jharkhand CM was taken long back but it is getting delayed. Hence, we arrived at the decision to withdraw support for Koda government if he does not resign now," Soren told reporters here.
Claiming that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) high command has directed Madhu Koda to resign to facilitate his oath taking, Soren said: “I will take oath as new CM as soon has he (Koda) resigns there".
Besides Chief Ministership, his party will be getting two portfolios, one cabinet rank and a minister for state berth at the Centre, the former Chief Minister further claimed.
On being asked to specify the time-frame given to Koda for putting in his papers, Soren said: "He has to resign as soon as possible."
Soren had supported the UPA in the recent confidence motion in the Lok Sabha after forging some conditions. (ANI)
