Sharif, Musharraf can’t work together: Rashid
Karachi, Feb 23 : Former Pakistan Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid has said that the new National Assembly and President Pervez Musharraf would not be able to work together for long.
“Musharraf is ready to work with them. One of the two has to go if the situation remains unchanged,” Rashid said in an interview with Geo News.
“I don’t see any change in the attitude of Nawaz Sharif. He has no role in the assembly. He should prepare for the next election,” he further said.
“The members of newly elected assembly could not survive with the channels more than six months, while we had carry on for five years,” Rashid added.
He said he opposed the nomination of Shaukat Aziz as Finance Minister and Prime Minister in former setup.
Commenting on his electoral defeat, Rashid said he was not angry over his first election defeat in life.
“It is the people’s verdict which should be accepted cheerfully,” The News quoted Rashid, as saying. (ANI)
