Shares gain 3.3 per cent in Seoul
Seoul - Shares surged 3.3 per cent Wednesday on the Seoul stock exchange after recent heavy losses, buoyed by expectations of rising corporate investments.
The benchmark Kospi index soared 33.69 points to close at 1,059.26.
Advancing issues outpaced decliners 731 to 130.
The main index of the technology-heavy Kosdaq market rose 12.14 points, or 3.49 per cent, to 359.90.
South Korea's won inched up against the dollar. On currency markets, the US dollar was quoted at 1,551.0 Korean won, after 1,552.40 won Tuesday. (dpa)
