Shahrukh Gets Court Notice Over ‘Om Shanti Om’
A metropolitan magistrate’s court in Andheri has issued notices to King Khan, his wife Gauri Khan and filmmaker Farah Khan on Tuesday, asking them to be present before in the court on February 22.
The notice has been issued with regard to the defamation suit filed by veteran actor Manoj Kumar against the makers of the film ‘Om Shanti Om.’
Manoj Kumar had objected to a character in the movie who bore a resemblance to him and was shown being beaten up by guards when he went to attend a movie premiere.
Kumar had said the portrayal had caused immense damage to his status and lowered his image among fans.
The actor demanded a rupee as compensation money from the filmmakers, and said the objectionable scenes should be erased from CDs and DVDs.
Last month, the Andheri metropolitan magistrate issued summons to the three, asking them to be present in the court on Tuesday.
But, they didn’t show up following which the magistrate issued the notices to them.
