Scientists To Develop ‘Love Spray’ Soon!
People, who believed that their love life has finished, need not to worry, as scientists are ready to create a spray, which will boost that most human of emotions.
An international team of scientists have been analyzing the chemistry of brain responsible for the multifaceted emotions, which in fact draw people towards a particular member of the opposite sex and help in keeping humans monogamous.
According to the scientists, one day the feelings of love can be induced by taking a small or smelling a scent.
In the ‘Nature’ journal, Group leader Prof Larry Young of Emory University in Georgia, wrote, “For one thing, drugs that manipulate brain systems at whim to enhance or diminish our love for another may not be far away.”
Trials have already proved that a nasal squirt of the hormone oxytocin tunes up people into others' emotions.
Websites are selling products , which include Enhanced Liquid Trust, a cologne-like mixture of oxytocin and chemical scents called pheromones specifically made in order to boost up the dating and relationship area of people’s life.
Prof Young said, “Although such products are unlikely to do anything other than boost users' confidence, studies are under way in Australia to determine whether an oxytocin spray might aid traditional marital therapy.”
“The hormone interacts with the reward and reinforcement system driven by the neuro-transmitter dopamine— the same circuitry that drugs such as nicotine, cocaine and heroine act on in humans to produce euphoria and addiction.”
“Dopamine-related reward regions of the human brain are active in mothers viewing images of their child. Similar activation patterns are seen in people looking at photographs of their lovers,” he added.
