SC Grants Interim Bail To Sanjay Dutt, Film Industry Relieved
Mumbai: On Monday, the film industry breathed a sigh of relief when the Supreme Court (SC) ordered the release of actor Sanjay Dutt on interim bail.
Taran Adarsh, film trade analyst said, “Even though he has got bail, much depends on what happens in the final judgment. After all this is just an interim bail.”
“Whether or not his incomplete projects will be completed depends on for how long he is out on bail. He does have some major projects like Abbas Mustan's next, and he would require some time before he can complete them,” Mr. Adarsh added up.
According to the industry references it was doubtful that film makers would start any of the films in the near future, till it was absolved what time period the actor would remain out of jailhouse.
The majority of the people in the film industry were happy on the temporary bail but favored to wait and watch before giving any concrete reactions.
At the moment, Sanjay is lodged in Pune's Yeravada jail after he was condemned to six years custody in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
