SatNav signs MoU with Survey of India
GPS player SatNav Technologies inked a deal with Survey of India (SOI) to use SOI's maps and to release the SOI-approved digital maps in the market. The agreement will also enable SatNav to custom maps for mobile and personal navigation system for commercial use.
SatNav Technologies has also announced that it would issue extended map database, covering 404 cities and 16 lakh Points of Interest (POIs) with accurate demarcation of road network validation and gap in median and turn restrictions.
The company's Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Amit Prasad said: "We are proud to partner with SOI and with this enhancement of our map database we expect to continue to deliver premium and prompt service to all customers and partners. We are constantly building navigation applications keeping in mind our end user and through this map enhancement we expect to meet the growing market demand for navigation, map and location-based services and technologies."
Major General R. S. Tanwar, Additional Surveyor General of India hailed the agreement for generation of Value Added Products and services and said that SOI's core digital topographic database will address the user-specific needs.
