Samsung Unveils Smartphone Platform ‘Bada’ In India
Global consumer electronics major Samsung has made announcement about the launching of its new smartphone platform 'bada' in the Indian market.
In a declaration, Samsung president J.S. Shin said, "Bada, meaning 'ocean' in Korean, will be a driving force in accomplishing our vision of a smart phone for everyone."
The bada was unveiled at the company's global developer day in Bangalore on Monday.
The feature rich smartphone offers up a complete mobile ecosystem for the benefit of developers, operators as well as consumers.
"Consumers no longer see mobile phones as devices for voice communication. They relate to their mobiles as communication hubs -- as personal gateways to communicate with friends, family and the world at large," Shin said.
The novel platform will ease the vibrant Indian developer community revamped the world over to get their applications onto a number of Samsung devices worldwide, the statement noted.
Based on Samsung's signature TouchWiz user interface, the platform provides an intuitive medium to enhance creativity and user interactivity. Some of its features are flash control, web control, motion sensing, fine-tuned vibration control, and face detection.
Samsung “bada”, meaning “ocean” in Korean, provides an ‘open’ platform for offering up bettered mobile experiences to users, and a mobile ecosystem through a developer support program that both the developers and consumers will benefit from.
Indian developers will be able to make the most of mobile device capabilities to create compelling applications to make phone calls, send messages or access the contact list. (With Inputs from Agencies)
