Samsung rolls out new 640GB and 2TB External Hard DrivesSamsung has introduced two new external hard drives in S line series with storage capacities of 640 Giga-Byte and 2 Tera-Byte.

The hard drives have been launched to fulfill the users demand for storage devices with huge capacities.

The new S line series hard drives are very compact in size and have a stylish design. The 640 GB portable is only 2.5 inches long while the 2TB S3 portable is 3.5inch long.

Previously, S line series didn’t have any hard drive with storage capacity more than 500 GB.

Mr. Cheol-hee Lee, Vice President of marketing, Storage Systems Division, Samsung Electronics said that Samsung has enlarged and improved its extensive family of external hard drives to sustain the increasing user demand for more storage capacity.

He added that the new drives provide users with a sleek design and high-density choices in both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch form factors.

Both the drives are equipped with functions like Safety key, Secret zone and Auto back up.

The S2 portable is mainly imagined for storing digital media whereas S3 portable is likely to back up the entire PC with its mammoth capacity of 2 TB.

The 640GB S2 portable will become available by this month, while the S3 portable will hit the market by the beginning of next year. The prices are yet to be announced.
