Samsung Announces ‘Aamir Khan’ As Brand Ambassador For Mobiles; Rolls Out 5 New Mobile Phones
Samsung Telecommunications India (STI) has made announcement about the appointment of Bollywood superstar ‘Aamir Khan’ as the brand ambassador for its mobile phones in the Indian market.
The recent development is in synchronization with Samsung’s latest brand positioning exercise aimed at doubling up its market share.
Recently Samsung's rival Nokia has roped in ‘King Khan’ as its brand ambassador.
With its new brand positioning tagline – “Next is what?,” the
company plans to leverage Aamir Khan in its brand advertisements plus product
advertising for mobile phones.
While declaring Aamir's name as Samsung's ambassador for mobile phones, HB Lee, Samsung South West Asia headquarters president and CEO said, “The Samsung brand stands for qualities of innovation, change, discovery, self-expression and excellence in performance. And these very same qualities are epitomised by Aamir Khan, whose quality and depth of work as well as versatility as an actor, have made him a much loved and respected actor in India today. We are indeed very proud and privileged to have him as our brand ambassador.”
The company has also rolled out new five new sleek and stylish phones in the market.
Targeted at users across multimedia, business lifestyle and popular segments, the newly launched mobile phoned include SGH-i450 priced at Rs 15,000; the SGH-G800, which is available at a price of Rs 21,799; i550 and D 880 each priced at around Rs 25,000; D 880 at a price of Rs13,799; and J210, which is priced at Rs 6,649.
Samsung, which already has two distributors in India, has strengthened its network by nominating SSK and Link as its distributors for mobile sales in the western and eastern parts of the country, respectively.
