SAIL’s Q1 net profit up 20%
Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), the country's largest steel producing company, has posted a 20.32% jump in its net profit for the April-June quarter, driven by higher sales volumes, increased production and higher interest earnings.
The New Delhi- based company said that its first-quarter net profit rose to Rs 1835.19 crore from Rs 1525.12 crore, compared with previous year.
Total Income has increased from Rs 8,346.40 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 to Rs 11,421.99 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008.
