Sachin to play alongside ICL star
Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar will be a part of the same team as Indian Cricket League (ICL) player and former New Zealand cricketer Hamish Marshall in a Twenty20 exhibition match to be played in Wellington on Friday. Tendulkar and Marshall will take the field as a part of New Zealand Masters in their match against Australia Masters.
The exhibition match is a joint venture between New Zealand Cricket and New Zealand Cricket Players' Association (NZCA) and will see a host of former stars from both Australia and New Zealand. The match will be a curtain raiser for the 2nd T20 match between India and New Zealand at the Westpac stadium. Dinesh Karthik will be playing for Australian Masters. While Tendulkar is not part of the T20 squad, Karthik will not be in the eleven for Friday's international.
Marshall, who played for ICL Royal Bengal Tigers, will play with Tendulkar in NZ Masters team. New Zealand has eight ICL players.
