Rs45-crore boost for civic amenities

JDA earmarks funds for roads, sanitation, water supply lines and electrification

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will spend Rs45 crore to improve basic infrastructure like roads, sanitation, electrification, water supply lines and plantation in several areas falling under its jurisdiction. In a meeting on Friday, the Project Works Committee (PWC) of the authority gave its nod to the proposal and issued directions to study the viability of a policy for sustained development of various areas.

Maintenance of roads will be undertaken from Durgapura on Tonk Road to Amanishah drain via Maharani Farm, 200-feet road (on Ajmer Road) to Sirsi Road and a few other roads in several areas. In the meeting, Rs14.92 crore was sanctioned for one phase of Abhinav Vihar residential scheme. This amount will be spent on water supply, roads, sewerage and electricity facilities.

The committee approved Rs6.11 crore for developing internal roads in villages affected due to setting up of special economic zones (SEZs). These villages are Paldi Parsa, Tilawas, Bhambhoria and Kalwada.

For roadside plantation, the committee reserved an amount of more than Rs5 crore. Under this proposal, plantation will be undertaken from Dantali Saroliya Road to Goner Road, Mahal Road, alongside the airport boundary wall, in Murlipura, Balaji Vihar, Anand Vihar and also in Loha Mandi localities.

Meanwhile, the Land and Property Committee (LPC) approved 750 sq m land for a proposed police chowki at Swez Farm near New Sanganer Road. A police chowki was proposed as the area is densely populated.

The committee also discussed matters pertaining to additional land allotment to Saint Orthodox Church Society Primary School at Girdharipura village, and shifting of 33 KV grid sub-station of Rajasthan Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited to a new location.
