Rs 13.72 Cr For 2nd Season Of ICL

A prize money of Rs 13.720 crore was announced by the Indian Cricket Rs 13.72 Cr For 2nd Season Of ICLLeague (ICL) for its October edition of Twenty20 championship. The second season of ICL began with a glittering ceremony on October 10 and will witness 41 matches at Hyderabad, Panchkula, Gurgaon and Ahmedabad.

Speaking with the media persons here, former wicket keeper-batsman and ICL Executive Board member Kiran More said that the winner of the tournament would receive Rs 2 crore, while the runner-up would get Rs 1 crore. The man of the match award would fetch Rs 2 lakh while the man of the tournament would be awarded with Rs 40 lakh. Similarly a team winning at the league stage would be richer by Rs 25 lakh and the teams losing the semis of the tournament would be given Rs 50 lakh each.

Commenting over the prize money, More said, “I am sure this will work as a major incentive for all our players and motivate them to give cent per cent to their team and the viewing public every time they take the field.”

Nine teams including new entrants Dhaka Warriors will play against each other once in every city. The finals of the tournament would be played on November 16. Along with Hyderabad, Panchkula, Ahmedabad and Gurgaon would also be holding the matches for this season. In the opening match, Hyderabad Heroes would take Lahore Badshahs at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium.
