American actress and producer Rita Wilson shared very personal news. According to the wife of actor Tom Hanks, she has undergone a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. The actress said that she was diagnosed with an invasive form of breast cancer.

On Tuesday, while talking to People magazine, the 58-year-old actress said, "I am recovering and most importantly, expected to make a full recovery. Why? Because I caught this early, have excellent doctors and because I got a second opinion".

The producer of 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' said that she had been regularly monitoring an underlying condition when a development in the breast biopsy confirmed no cancer. While talking about Wilson, her publicist said that the actress has taken leave from the Broadway play 'Fish in the Dark', which has stars like Larry David. She has taken leave so that she can undergo surgery last week. Wilson is supposed to return on May 5, according to Wilson's publicist.
