Research in Motion has announced that it would roll out a BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac, the latest package that would allow BlackBerry owners synchronize iTunes, playlists, contacts and appointments.

The new package by RIM will also help BlackBerry users with Mac computers to install new software and games on their devices.

It will automatically update the smartphone when fresh software shows availability.

The software is reportedly support Mac OS X 10.5.5 and above.

Earlier last year, RIM introduced BlackBerry Media Sync that permits its users to sync playlists with Apple's iTunes.

Another is "The Missing Sync", which works very well and offers wireless sync, but costs $39.95.

RIM is planning to release the new package in September.
