Reliance Life launches new distribution format

Reliance Life launches new distribution formatAiming at further enhancing its reach across India, private sector insurer Reliance Life Insurance Company (RLIC) has launched a new distribution format called `Career Agency'.

The new distribution format offers a fixed salary structure to prospective advisors, in order to encourage them to take insurance as their long-term professional career.

Malay Ghosh, president & executive director of RLIC, said that the `Career Agency' format help new recruits in devoting the required time and efforts to develop a good understanding of the industry and learn how to make it a long-term carrier rather than putting them under pressure to generate business and earn commission.

Speaking about the new distribution format, Ghosh said, "The main aim. is to support new recruits during the learning phase so that they can concentrate on training and learning the ropes rather than being under the pressure of generating business to earn commission."

Under the `Career Agency' program, the company will recruit 5,500 career agents across the country by the end of 2012-13. It has already hired nearly 2,500 career agents and deputed them in more than 150 branches across the country. The remaining 3,000 career agents will be hired within the coming three months.

The `Career Agency' is the third distribution channel introduced by RLIC this year. Earlier, the insurer introduced `Life Plaza' and `Face-to-Face' distribution formats.
