The telecommunications company operated by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group – Reliance Communications is set to launch the India's first mobile phone-based novel, “Deaf Heaven”. The novel written by award-winning writer Pinki Virani – Deaf Heaven – will be rolled out next month.

According to Reliance Communications, Deaf Heaven will be delivered through a set of 90 SMS messages priced at Rs 30, over a period of 30 days. The novel will be offered through a special SMS subscription pack, which will be available by early August. The subscribers subscribing the special pack of "Deaf Heaven" get part of novel through three SMS messages everyday.   

The mobile phone-based novel Deaf Heaven is part of Reliance's strategy to expand its Value-added services or VAS. The company is also in negotiations to dish out F1 Racing live on R-World.

Additionally, Reliance Communications is also planning to convert the novel "Deaf Heaven" into an adult audio mobile book, which will be available on a multimodal number, which is under development. Currently, Reliance Communications is working with the writer (Pinki Virani) to develop prompts for the Adult audio mobile book (Deaf Heaven), which the company will offer at a subscription price of Rs 30; the subscribers will be charged Re 1 per minute to hear the audio book.

The Adult audio mobile book Deaf Heaven will be available in English. It will constitute almost 60 minutes of audio content. The digital rights of the audio book will be owned by the author Pinki Virani. Reliance Communications has declined to reveal details of the revenue-share arrangement.
